If you enjoy collaborating with regulators, don't scare easily, and can see the future, we would love to have you on our team! We are seeking a bright, hands-on legal and compliance insurance leader. Expertise in property and casualty insurance programs with a heavy emphasis on auto, regulator compliance, and technology, including contracts and familiarity with digital platforms is ideal.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and runs Just Insure’s compliance function.
- Manages the relationship and all interactions with regulators including owning the filings.
- Leads design and implementation of an enterprise compliance strategy, taking into account Just Insure’s business strategy and complex regulations and nuanced supervisory expectations, including how they apply in a matrixed commercial environment.
- Manages an enterprise compliance risk management program that meets regulatory requirements and develops policies and standards to meet applicable regulatory requirements.
- These include core components of enterprise compliance such as marketing and digital, vendor management, member complaints, governance and training, and risk assessment.
- Develops standards for specific development of compliance policies, procedures, and processes.
- Develops, communicates, and reinforces the organization's compliance risk tolerance and risk appetite statement and associated limits.
- Identifies, addresses, and corrects any areas of operation within the enterprise compliance program requiring compliance attention.
- Oversees enterprise compliance reporting and analytics activity including the escalation of significant risk breaches, variation in risk assessments, and resolutions.
- Provides independent oversight for the implementation of appropriate strategic/tactical solutions for compliance requirements across the business (e.g., remediation of deficiencies, and development of new programs).
- Provides independent oversight for regulatory examinations, information requests regarding compliance, and regulatory filings.
- Provides guidance and advice related to compliance matters impacting the suite of product offerings within the LOB being supported.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 8-10+ years of insurance brokerage, legal, consulting, or risk management background, preference for experience with complex US and EU auto programs; commercial or personal line experience.
- Desire to become an expert in emerging technology, risk, new business models, and personal and commercial insurance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to think quickly on your feet.
- Credible executive presence.
- Intellectually curious desire to become an expert on risk in the telematics-based insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of insurance fundamentals risk, exposure, and coverage.
- Collaborative - builds followership with influence and results.
- Comfortable in the gray, operating without a user's manual.
- Ability to drive projects to successful completion with minimal supervision.
- Exceptionally organized, personally accountable, and able to manage competing priorities.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a technical discipline (e.g. Compliance)with a proven track record leading comparable operations and programs (e.g. complex compliance programs) is required.
