Senior Editor

Position Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced romance novel author with excellent writing and editing skills to join our growing team as a Senior Editor to help us grow our library of curated books. We’re not just looking for an editor - we’re seeking a visionary who can breathe new life into love stories. This is a full-time and fully remote position, offering flexibility and creative freedom. As our Senior Editor, you’ll be the alchemist who turns good stories into unforgetting experiences, alongside our growing team of creatives. 

What Sets You Apart:

• You love romance novels and read at least 4-5 a month

• You’ve either written or ghostwritten 3 romance novels that have been published, and can link those books for us to review

• You have minimum 3 years of experience writing or editing professionally

• You have a perfect grasp of written and spoken English

• Deep understanding of what people want to read when it comes to romance stories

• You have the ability to work independently and can collaborate cross-functionally when you need to

• You can be brutally honest with edits that are needed to improve a story

• You have strong organizational and project management skills, with an ability to meet tight deadlines

What You’ll Do:

• Identify and choose the most compelling plots that you know are addictive page-turners

• Deep-dive into editing and polishing the stories; noting inconsistencies in tone, pacing or where improvements can be made overall

• Ensure the narrative voice and pacing of each book remains consistent and genre or trope-specific

• Keep tabs on romance novel trends and work them into plotlines, whenever and wherever appropriate

• Manage yourself and your work independently, staying on top of the books you are working on

• You must be open to working across all popular romance sub-genres and tropes

• The compensation range for this position is: $62,000 - $64,000 USD
