At Quit Genius we run a serverless architecture on AWS, with infrastructure managed using Terraform. Our system has been built to deliver our smoking cessation and alcohol management programmes, and we are looking for a platform engineer to join the squad to prepare the system and engineering teams for scale.
 
The platform squad will support our feature squads, taking ownership of system architecture and enabling engineers to provision their own infrastructure.
 
A key focus of this role will be to optimise our systems for scale, and design and implement performance and load testing to demonstrate our ability to deliver a highly available, performant system for our clients. 
 
As a HIPAA compliant, HITRUST certified organisation it is essential that our architecture is built in compliance with information security and data privacy requirements. Experience and knowledge of security best practices in the context of AWS is essential.



Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Quit Genius system built on AWS
  • Prepare our system for scale
  • Maintain information security and data privacy compliance
  • Develop a deep understanding of the development workflow at Quit Genius
  • Be responsible for the planning, implementation, and growth of the AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Build, release, and manage the configuration of all production systems
  • Manage a continuous integration and deployment methodology for server-based technologies



The background we are looking for
  • 5+ yrs experience
  • A solid understanding of AWS, serverless architecture and Terraform
  • Experience with building / maintaining platforms that adhere to security standards
  • Experience working on a system that has scaled to 50m+ users
  • Proficiency in script development and scripting languages
  • The ability to be a team player
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
