DevOps Engineer

Position
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and building of infrastructure and software with a focus on automation and standardization. Reporting to the technical team managers and the leadership team, you will work closely with various development teams to ensure the identification and deployment of updates and fixes. Duties and responsibilities will include analyzing and maintenance of the technical stack of various projects and being agile in supporting the development teams in quickly deploying infrastructure as needed. Collaboration amongst development, content, and operations teams will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Building and deployment of new tools and infrastructure, including automating existing infrastructure which needs to scale horizontally
- Identifying technical problems in deployed software and producing reports for developers to work from to create patches
- Deploy updates and fixes
- Implementing automation tools for deployment, orchestration, and test needs
- Analyze current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
- Automating infrastructure setup
- Handling alerts and monitoring for processes and environments
- Collaboration with the rest of the devops team to set standard operating procedures for deploying, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Collaborate alongside project management teams to successfully monitor test and production deployments
- Participation in product and project meetings to provide expertise and intake of feedback regarding inconsistencies
- Satisfactory understanding of blockchain and a growth based mindset
Requirements
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Linux systems
- Blockchain passion - you listen to podcasts, watch videos, attend meetups. You keep up with the field as something that consumes you.
- Able to work productively and independently in a decentralized team
- Scripting and programming skills with the ability to develop custom tool integrations
- Experience using version control with git
- Experience maintaining bug tracking, code review, coverage analysis, agile tracking, and testing tools
- Experience with continuous integration tools
- Experience administering application servers, containers, and web servers
- Some experience with unit testing and automated testing tools
- Experience with AWS and DigitalOcean, or other cloud provider is a requirement
- Proficient English language and communication skills
- Proven experience supporting developers and maintaining open-source tools and libraries
- You will be someone who works well on your own and with a team
- You value cooperation and collaboration above all, and are not afraid to ask for clarification or help when needed
- You are kind and respectful of others’ opinions and you are open and act with integrity when engaging in academic or technical discussions
Desirable skills
- Experience with multiple software configuration management and deployment tool
- Blockchain expertise - you understand and can articulate complex blockchain concepts like DeFi, Staking, UTXO model, DAOs. You know most of the major chains and their differences.
- Experience with Cardano, Ethereum, Solana or Algorand is a plus
