Lead Developer - Next.js Amplify
- 50k - 70k
- Europe
Minea is a scale-up helping customers find their perfect e-commerce product. Through a software ranking products based on their advertising performance on various platforms such as Facebook, Tiktok, and Pinterest, they reached 6000 recurring customers with a steady 20% growth. Since its inception, the team has grown fully remotely, with Mineans scattered across Europe, maintaining their performance and user-focused mentality.
Faced with numerous challenges starting with technological scalability, they are now recruiting a Full stack Lead developer to accelerate their growth while keeping their high quality standards as soon as possible. First thought as a hands-on technical role, you will work closely with the founders and easily evolve to a strategic position. Depending on your experience and expertise, the salary might vary between 50 to 70k EUR annually. Exceptional candidates will go beyond this threshold. Furthermore, note that founders are looking for investors which might positively impact your final package.
The role
The platform is built around multiple technologies:
- The user-facing application is built on Next.js
- User data and authentication is managed with Amplify
- Data manipulation and scraping is done in Python
- Everything is hosted on AWS
You would definitely be a good fit if you already know and often use Amplify and Next.js. Ideally, you are familiar and might use Python. You would particularly stand out by having production ready projects using those technologies, or at least adjacent ones.
When starting, you will be mostly hands-on, building new features and working with a couple freelance developers. Reporting directly to the founders, you will be in charge of internalizing the technical knowledge.
As a Lead Developer, you will be expected to develop the main product, but you will also be a part of the decision-making process and the broader vision. This is the opportunity to create a strategic roadmap, to build and lead a team, enforce best practices, etc. You might evolve rapidly to a CTO position, therefore having previous experience leading people is a plus. The team being composed of international people, you should be able to understand and express yourself in English. French is a plus.
Advantages
Salary | You will start at a salary between 50 to 70k EUR. |
Full remote | The team already works fully remotely, and favors asynchronous communication. This means that you are able to work, where and when you want, as long as you are available for occasional synchronous meetings with the executive team, or investors. This requires that you stay between +3/-3 hours of the Paris time zone. |
Impact | You will be the next CTO of Minea, directly working with the founders in a company expected to go through hypergrowth |
Equities | You could be eligible for an investment bonus package in the form of equities or shares in the event of a fundraising (still to define) |
Recruiting process
The recruiting process, follows a 3 to 4 steps plan:
- If your profile seems like a good fit on paper (your linkedin or resume), you will meet our dedicated recruiter who will answer your questions and discuss your project with Minea.
- If all goes well, you will have the choice between presenting one of your existing projects (if it uses the same stack as Minea), or doing an at-home exercise. Eventually you can do both. It should not take you more than 4 hours to prepare.
- You will meet our technical recruiters during 1 hour, discussing your experience and project. This is not a whiteboard interview. They will only use what you prepared, and assess your general knowledge and mentality. It will be the opportunity to challenge your decisions in your exercise.
- Finally, you will meet the founders for a last culture-fit meeting. They’ll recap each previous step, but then it’s your time to ask them all your questions, and for them to help project yourself in your future role.
Speed is of the essence, and all the steps should span only a week or two. If at any point of the interview you wouldn’t meet the expectations, we’ll come back to you with any useful feedback.
